Percy's class was on a field trip, when Mrs. Dodds turned into a bat thing. She tried to attack Percy, but missed, and when Percy looked over Mr. Brunner threw him a pen that turned into a sward. Then when Mrs. Dodds came at him again Percy swung the sward and him her. She turned into a pile of yellow powered. Then when people started to deny that Mrs. Dodds ever existed, Percy started to get angry. People started to say that Mrs. Kerr had been the teacher all along, but Percy knew she wasn't. Then his friend, Grover would hesitate when Percy mentioned Mrs. Dodds's name. Grover would always deny it. Percy's grades slipped and he is beginning to get into more fights with Nancy Bobofit and her friends. Then Percy was told he couldn't go to school next year. When Percy was walking downstairs to the faculty offices, he saw Mr. Brunner's door slightly open. He was about the open the door when he heard his name. He stopped walking and listened to the conversation. Mr. Brunner and Grover were talking about him. Then he dropped his book and quickly escaped the hallway. Percy packed his stuff, ready to leave the school. Grover was on the same bus as Percy on the way to Manhattan. When admitted to Grover he had been listening to their coveration. The bus then broke down on the side of the road. Then Grover and Percy snip a string from their knitting Grover started to freak out. When Percy and Grover got to the bus station, Percy ditched Grover after telling him he wouldn't. Percy goes back to his mom's house and his mom isn't home. Instead he see's his step-father. When his mom returned, they both left going to Montauk (Beach.) Then Grover appears and they all have to go...
